Valerie Marcketta, MA, MSW, LCSW
Valerie is a licensed clinical social worker and has been serving people in the social work profession for over 40 years. She received her MA from Montclair University and her MSW is from the University of Illinois, specializing in mental health. She works with individuals.
Valerie believes therapy is a way for people to increase their understanding of themselves and the people in their lives. Her desire is to assist them as they navigate through the various stages of life dealing with; stress, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and adapting and adjusting to transitions and change (including that of aging). When desired treatment can include a spiritual component with faith based conversations and interventions. Therapy is facilitated by cognitive behavioral techniques, coping skills and boundary development, which is done in a safe, supportive and encouraging environment (even if remotely ;)
Valerie‘s desire is to provide a place of calm and peace in an ever-changing world. Knowing she has had years of experience working with people overcoming various obstacles, concerns, and emotional turmoil; and hearing that there appears to be a growing need for mental health clinicians, Valerie is scheduling some hours in her day to make herself available, Her hope is she can provide relief for some. Each person identifies their own goals for treatment with the over arching one of enhanced personal peace, internal serenity and hopefully more joy.
Valerie‘s availability at Hellenic Therapy Center is during the midday hours of the week. Please call to schedule an appointment.
